What was the original intent behind status messages?
It was supposed to be analogous to voice message telling the status of person's availability. It has certainly evolved from there but is it for good...
On an average a person has 5000 different emotions of which some are even not covered by English language, moreover, human mind thinks of indefinite possibilities in a minute. You don't even know the history behind that saying and it is your status message.
Some examples (I will not be elaborate):
1. An orthodox statement, may be from 14th century, used for something which is just invented few decades back.
2. A religious statement mixed with professional world.
They could be acceptable but validate it first.
In the end, it is your status message and you are the best person to judge it.
But next time you put a status message, just see if this message really helps somebody or it is like several other inspirational statements which are just good to read.
